Hi Guys,

I thought that this week I’d give you a bit more of my personal background and explain how writing and publishing has benefited me and my mental health.

In 2001 I found a way out. I discovered that writing down my innermost thoughts and feelings was cathartic and hugely therapeutic process. A process that allowed me to explain and examine my chaotic mind when I thought no-one else was listening. I let it all hang out, and when I wrote my autobiography, A Can of Madness, I poured my heart out on to each and every page. It was extremely intense but, overall, an extremely rewarding experience. Writing saved my life and enabled me to put my manic depression behind me once and for all.

I urge you to trust the writing process and just let the things in your head just pour out onto the page like I did.

I got published, and as a published author I rediscovered the confidence in myself that had long been stolen, and when I said published author, instead of manic depressive, it gave me credibility. In fact it made me interesting to talk to and not just a curiosity to have around. My humiliation left me and it was replaced by a rediscovered sense of purpose.

I hadn’t foreseen this added benefit, and I used the drive it gave me to found Chipmunka Publishing, a publishing company dedicated to helping sufferers of mental illness to find their voice and free themselves from their illness and the emotions it carries.

In the past 12 years I have helped hundreds of people just like you to write, publish and sell their own books. During that time I have learned the rules to making this both a successful process for catharsis and healing, but also how to take the embryo of an idea and turn it into a successful career.

In addition to my story with Chipmunka, I have helped dozens of mental illness sufferers re-join society as business owners, the founders of charities, social entrepreneurs and in many other ways that person defined as success.

If you would like to get in touch or are thinking about writing/publishing your own book then don’t hesitate. I’m here to help.

Wishing you all a healthy and happy week,

Jason Pegler
