About

In 2002 we set up Chipmunkapublishing as the mental health publisher. The company launched with the best selling memoir on manic depression A Can of Madness written by the company’s Co Founder Jason Pegler. We published mental health books to give a voice to writers with mental health experiences around the world and still do. At Chipmunkapublishing we raise awareness of mental health and the stigma surrounding it by encouraging society to listen. We are documenting mental health literature as a genre so that mental health writers can help to shape the mental well being of society and make the world a happier place. We want to reduce the humiliation that people with “mental illness” feel by being the main publisher of the mental health literary genre. We give people with mental illness a voice so that they can have the opportunity and positive mindset needed to lead better lives and hopefully full recoveries, or a least a deeper understanding and acceptance of what they have experienced. We also publish works by people who have learnt to live with their experiences, so their books can inspire fellow sufferers. As Jason’s own personal development journey grew we started publishing other books written by mental health professionals, sports stars, business/thought leaders, life coaches, nlp trainers, psychologists, psychiatrists, spiritualists and relationship experts. .

We also give a voice to family members of people with mental health experiences and many other disabilities. Titles include autobiographies/memoirs, fiction, poetry, film scripts, plays, books of lyrics, anthologies, stories written by carers, self help books, academic works and more.We are a unique social enterprise focused on publishing both factual and creative literature.

Do not let your children grow up misunderstanding people with mental health issues. Let’s improve society so that mental health writers can empower people with mental health issues to be equal in society. Then they can shape their future and help others. We work with governments, health services, the media, mental health organisations, charities and private businesses to successfully publish and promote literature that encourages a positive attitude towards mental health issues. Chipmunkapublishing aims to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness once and for all. We also publish books under different imprints on sport, personal development and by business owners so they can grow their own brand/business. Publishing is always evolving and we are very flexible and open minded in the way we publish.
