WALLS 1
Once, many times ago, I walked before
my treed window, my heartache wooden
as wilderness I cared
little for those jigsaw letters on my walls,
tantalizing, cutting words I could not believe.
They seemed petrified, like my eyes
which grew alive only behind curtains
where I….tormented, became
lodged in dreams. But, like rubber, walls bounced
their colour into my aloofness
a rainbow seen through
hard, heavy forest. The trees sing to wild men
the way I sang to walls.
WALLS 2
The walls have eyes
In a room
Empty with me
I feel their stare
Like the stars
Mocking me
But the eye
Of the moon
Is my soul release
WALLS 3
Walls
raised like the jealous sun
they cannot support me
but only
roof my head
yet, if I collapse
it is the goddess’ moon beams
that bless me
and lighten my heart.
