THE NEXT MORNING – THE UNEXPLAINED DEATH
Doctor Jessop arrived at the house at about 7pm and rushed upstairs into Amber’s room. He hated doing this but after taking Amber’s pulse and feeling her cold body, she was pronounced dead. Doctor Jessop checked for marks on her neck, but there did not appear to be any of any kind and put the death down to natural causes. He did however notice that the windows were wide open. There were no signs of a struggle and no blood stains to speak of and the death treated as not suspicious.
Pam sobbed in her brothers arms, crying her eyes out after the news that Amber had passed away. John, Pam’s brother was also crying, trying to come to terms with her death. Amber’s body was taken to a local morgue, where a post mortem would be carried out, to find the cause of death.
The telephone rang at Amber’s house and Uncle John Answered…
“Hello” said John,
“Hello, sorry to disturb you at this painful time, it’s the hospital. Is Mrs. Smith there?” said the woman.
“No she’s not this is her brother, go on” said John.
“We have a problem, I don’t know how I am going to put this, but Amber Smith, well her body has disappeared” said the woman.
“Sorry!” exclaimed John in a puzzled tone.
“We are really sorry, but the body has gone from the morgue and we can’t explain it” said the woman.
“Well don’t you think you ought to find her?” said John upset.
“We are truly sorry, we have notified the police and they are working on it. If we get any news, we will contact you as soon as possible” said the woman. Sorry to have to tell you the news, can I ask your name please?” said the woman.
“John Parker” John replied, putting the receiver down in quite an upset manner…
