Description

An intelligent, honest and darkly humorous account of what it is to suffer from Anorexia and the processes involved during treatment. The graphic presentation enables an understanding of the complexity of the disorder – it is an illness that goes far beyond simply not wanting to eat. ‘Tales from the feeding farm’ is utterly original in its approach. It demonstrates the brutal truth behind this highly glamourised illness as well as casting a critical eye on current medical approaches.

About the Author

Jess Blake is 21 and lives in London. She suffered the onset of anorexia shortly after beginning her Media degree at Goldsmiths college in 2008. She has been battling the illness ever since with the help of the NHS and has recently recovered enough to resume her studies. ‘Tales from the feeding farm’ was written towards the end of her treatment and is her first graphic novel. When she’s not drawing, writing or reading, she also enjoys gigs, clubbing and comedy.
