The Queen wishes me to write and thank you for the poem which you have sent for Her Majesty to see.

About the Author

My name is Moeze Lalji. I was born in Uganda in 1958 and came to England as a refugee in 1972.

I have been a paperboy, worked for a chain of chartered accountants, then a bank , then I had a post office business and worked for a property company, after that I had my breakdown and I suffer from schizophrenia. I come from a background of mental health.

I am married with one daughter and my wife is our strength. I belong to the Ismaili community and it is our faith in the Aga Khan I think that is keeping me alive and the obvious support from the mental health team.
