Nigel was born in 1959 and has survived the psychiatric system from a two-year hospitalization at age fourteen intermittently until recently. He was given E.C.T at sixteen. However, after trials and tribulations he met an excellent ward sister and consultant who encouraged him with his academic work. So began a more structured love-affair with both books and writing at the Open University. Firstly, an undergraduate degree in Social and Political Science, then a Bachelors in Humanities with Creative Writing both at 2/1. Followed by three Master’s Degrees: English, Creative Writing and English Literature. Also, being a published author with Chipmunkapublishing has enhanced his quality of life immensely. He had written creatively as a young child so the flame was always there and remains inextinguishable .
