Description
In the Victorian sexology, gay men and lesbians were called “inverts”. The idea was that gay men were womanly and lesbians manly. Clearly this is not the case as there are very masculine gay men and very feminine lesbians.
In this book Edward Penny has taken over the term, and made it refer to feminine men and masculine women – regardless of their sexual preferences. He has turned it into a gender identity, as opposed to a sexual orientation.
In this book he tells of the journey that brought him to identifying as a Male Invert and looks deep into the idea and the potential it offers for human liberation. He will also explore his own reasons for not becoming a Transwoman.
This book has the potential to re-shape society’s sex and gender landscape. It was also written with the parents of “gender non-conforming” children in mind.
