The whole point of this book is to show people, yes, bipolar is scary and at times soul destroying but learning to deal with it too. There are ways a person can control the illness to a degree, and not let it control the person. Took a long time, many lessons learned, many things given up. He had to go through hell before he got to heaven. This book is both funny and sad, Most importantly remember, It is one of the most frightening things in the world, but it is not the end of the world.
