About the Author

Born 1980 in Manchester attending art college awarding himself a place at Salford University James studied interior architecture. Since then James has developed writing abilities receiving a number of commendations, also James local paper wrote an article about his success describing him as Wordsmith which led to an interview prime time on BBC Radio Manchester where he discussed his illness and poetry. James was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 2001. On the radio James performed a poem which was written about schizophrenia and answered questions about how writing is a form of therapy.

James attends writers groups open mike nights, poetry festivals and has also written for businesses.

Suffering with schizophrenia is a day to day struggle for James but as he stated on the radio, it is just a release meaning writing gets it off your chest his illness inspires him.

James wishes to thank the member of staff from Macclesfield hospital who was the first person who encouraged him to write.
