Description

This book embodies the ephemeral. What is written on water cannot last. But we can have a memory of the action of writing on water. What lasts is our intent, attempting to do what cannot be done. But what if there was a way we could make it work?

Much like a Buddhist mandala, created, and then swept away so that nothing remains. So to the action of writing on water. Nothing remains, except maybe briefly a wet finger or pen. Who would write a book on water? How long would it be?

Things don’t last here. And there can be no greater evidence to this than trying to write words on water. Come and try – it could be fun, I am sure. What could be more fun than writing a book on water?

About the Author

Paul Fearne completed a master’s degree at Melbourne University. There he was president of the university philosophy club (Friends of Philosophy). He also completed a PhD at La Trobe University. His writing career started at the 2010 Melbourne Writers Festival, at which time he was interviewed on Radio National.

Launches followed. At Readings in Carlton. The North Melbourne Public Library. And the Dax Centre. An appearance on ABC News 24. Work on the Brainwaves radio show.

Now Fearne has withdrawn from the limelight to concentrate on the online proliferation of his books.

Published: 2026
Pages: 207
Key Themes: Themes: Disability, Mental Health, Anxiety, Triggers, Customer Service, Staff Abuse,

Description

This is the first book of Veronica’s, “The Invisible Stubborn Snail Travel Series 001.” Having struggled for the past six years with a massive, Anxiety and Depression Trauma. So intense that she found herself unable to think, speak clearly, remember anything, and a body refusing to manage basic functions. For the first years, she resembled a wobbly Jelly. With no mind and no wish to survive.

Not the successful corporate life she was used to. After four years of rest and Psychology, her mind slowly began to unravel its past traumas. Unable to return to work and now retired. Travel and writing were her past loves. Sadly, she now found herself riddled with arthritis and a deteriorating spinal cord.

Ever the optimist, she thought the world of disabled people would be vastly improved since she remembered how strongly she had supported diversity in the workplace. Respect for others had always been her mantra.

Her expectations were great. So idealistic that she soon started to experience the reality of every mentally and physically disabled persons worse nightmare. Being Veronica, she chose to share her nightmares and dreams with us all. Focusing on how countries and resorts make assisted life and travel really diverse, and not just give it lip service.

This series is written with complete honesty. As she would have written reports at work when she was designing improved quality operational solutions. Now she champions the disabled traveller. As she found out quite early in her new quest, she has her work cut out.

This book is very relatable; it will make you laugh, cry and maybe trigger past experiences. Rest assured that whatever she writes, she has already spoken to the management team about. Her complaints are genuine.

If you ever see anyone bully or abuse a disabled person. Feel free to help them. It’s a lonely, intimidating world in a wheelchair……
