Loved it. An absolute must read. It is beautifully paced. The author bares his soul and takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride. It should come with a warning too …”A box of tissues needed.” I started to cry from sadness and the tears continued falling, because I was rolling about laughing! The author lifts you from the depths of despair and straight into roaring hilarity. This book really should be made into a TV Drama-comedy, or stage play. I can’t wait to read Allyson’s story next. Thanks Russell.

I am a hairdresser and i abserloutly loved this book, reading it reminds me of Billy Elliot and id love to see it made into a film.
A must read for all walks of life.

How can somebody have such awful experiences in life, both personal and health wise, survive, then share his experience with others in such a balanced way. I knew Russell to be somebody very special, much loved in town, but his book has opened my eyes to a part of his life he has never shared. I hope others gain as much as I have from reading his book.

hillarios an touching!..fantastic read russel hughes has done a brillant job wit this book.gr8 insight 2 the life ov a hairdresser,the only thing i get 2 read these days is bills an client record cards lol.but this was changed 2day..u will not be dissapointed an will bring a smile to ur day!

Take a journey on an emotional train as you share the highs and lows of the life of the author. But be prepared to move quickly from each station as the author really doesn’t allow you to get too absorbed in one issue for too long. The book is cleverly constructed in such a way that just as you feel you need to cry you are lifted in to a world of humour. Despite reflecting on a number of turbulent times in his life, the author seems to have a natural ability to raise the mood of the reader by introducing some of the most hilarious events in hairdressing, just at the right time in the book. What makes this book so special is its originality and honesty. This is a must for the stage.

Well thats me done…only bought the e book today and could’nt stop reading. It had me laughing, crying, you name it!!!!! such a good story. I am a hairdresser and can relate to many stories that have been told, i’m going to tell all my work friends and i’m sure they’ll buy it too. A must read.*****

this book was done about a young boy who wanted to be a hairdresser,,the ups and downs this boy had to deal with livin in a poor housin astate ..which where i live now..i could understand everything this boy was face with by the things in which he wrote in is book..very true to life …that is why i wanted to read this book…i am no bookworm ,infect i hate readin books ..but i new i had to read this one..what can i say.i really enjoyed it all the way through..i was hook on the things that was happenin with this young man.true to life in every way.the book was also very funny…with alot of happyness and also very sad.which some of this book made me cry,which i dont do that.. and well done for this book..and i will be gettin the nxt 1 this man writes ..well done xxx

i thought this book was brilliant,i read it all the day i downloaded. it really is an inspiration to people whose lives are turned upside down,that you can turn everything around,russell has so many obstacles to overcome in this book but he never gives up. funny and heart rending in parts an altogether fantastic read. written by vicki chapman
