Although this book is fictional, as a fellow sufferer of schizophrenia, I could identify with the lead characture Matthew in this book. Mental health proffesionals could do well to read this as they seem of the impression that all voices incite people to do harm to themselves and others. It is also inciteful as to what it is like suffering from bi polar disorder. We are encouraged by the psychiatric team to give up on life and play the sick role forever. Matthew keeps on trucking against all odds taking himself off the medication. 'Defragmenting the soul' yes we could all do with a clear out now and again.
